SLEEPING BEAUTY – 1972
Performance filmed in Toronto at the O’Keefe Centre with the National Ballet of Canada in 1972. The production won an “Emmy Award” that same year when it was first shown. The Bluebird Pas de Deux is performed by Karin Kain and Frank Augustyn which earned them first prize in the Second International Dance Competition in Moscow in 1972. Large sections, in particular, of the prologue and the First Act have been cut, but it is still possible to admire the entire role of the Prince danced by Nureyev. It is also worth noting that the ballet is presented at the beginning of the DVD by Nureyev.
