and four Pas de Deux danced by Erik Bruhn with Sonia Arova, Maria Tallchief and Carla Fracci.

These televised records from 1962 and 1963 which show the beginnings of Nureyev on American television, are of great interest.

These four Pas de Deux demonstrate the brilliant technique of the Russian school, and the dancer’s first foray into Bournonville’s style.

On the initiative of Ernie Gilbert from VAI and with the help of Wallace Potts, film archivist for the Nureyev Foundation, it has been possible to publish these televised records from 1962 and 1963 which are the very first beginnings of Nureyev on American television. These four Pas de Deux demonstrate the brilliant technique of the Russian school, and the dancer’s first foray into Bournonville’s style.
