In addition to dancing at this performance, Nureyev conducted the Nashville Symphony Orchestra in the Overture and Grand Pas de deux from The Sleeping Beauty by Tchaikovsky. This was the second of three conducting ‘try outs’ before making his public debut as a conductor in Vienna.
