All rights to Rudolf Nureyev’s choreographic works are owned by the Rudolf Nureyev Foundation and licensed through our agency partner, Les Editions Mario Bois.
All licensed productions are subject to agreement and appropriate artistic oversight, including the use of a Foundation-accredited repetiteur to rehearse and mount the work on stage.
The Foundation recognises that the cast size of Nureyev’s original productions can be challenging for companies today and that the original sets and costumes can be expensive to reproduce. The Foundation is happy to consider proposals for different cast configurations or alternative designs.
We are also aware of the changing cultural context in which repertoire first staged in the 20th century is presented today. The Foundation is open to discussions about appropriate adaptations to the staging to better reflect contemporary attitudes and perspectives.
