Royal Ballet mixed programme
21 and 24 February 1972
Nureyev made his debut in Afternoon of a Faun by Jerome Robbins at the performance on 21 February, partnering Jennifer Penney. At the second performance his partner was Antoinette Sibley. In the same programme he also danced in Glen Tetley’s Field Figures, with Deanne Bergsma and then Monica Mason. The third piece in the programme was John Cranko’s Poème de l’extase but Nureyev did not dance in that at these performances.
