Nureyev made his full debut in Les Rendezvous at this performance, having danced in an extract in a Gala Tribute to Sir Frederick Ashton in July 1970.
The other pieces in the programme were Cranko’s Card Game, Ashton’s The Walk to the Paradise Garden and Sword of Alsace by David Drew. Nureyev only performed in Les Rendezvous.
