Royal Ballet mixed programme
9, 17 and 20 January 1968
Frederick Ashton’s new work Jazz Calendar was premiered at the first performance of this programme on 9 January 1968, and Rudolf Nureyev and Antoinette Sibley performed in the movement ‘Friday’ which they created. In the other two performances Nureyev additionally danced in his version of The Kingdom of the Shades from La Bayadère. The third piece in the programme was different at each performance.
